You Me At Six with Emarosa and The Spill Canvas.

You Me At Six with Emarosa and The Spill Canvas @ Birmingham O2 academy

I had highly anticipated this last tour of the debut album , Take Off Your Colours , i was expecting pure excellence and that is what this was. pure excellence. This was the biggest , and more than likely BEST show of their tour.

The choice of supports were not that suprising , yet they were unheard of to me. i prefered the harsh tones of Emarosa to the whiney irritating voice of The Spill Canvas. Also , emarosa had an immensely funny keyboardist who kept looking like he was having a parapalegic seizure. Probably A BIT excited. The Spill Canvas were annoying , their music reminds me of the term " slicin and dicin ;D" Baisically , they just moan about life. which normally appeals to me , but the lead had a beard so i was immediatley put off and i became the irritating heckler shouting " SHAVE YER FACE YER HOBO". As a result of this , i was contemplating why the hell TSC got a bigger time slot than Emarosa , because they are obviously better.

The crowd were hyped up to the max , and a few of my ribs may actually be embossed into my lungs as a result. The entrance the boys made was both dramatic yet funny. My eyes were instantly drawn to the newly 19 max helyer and of course , Josh Franceschi. The set was opened with the stomach trembling Jealous Minds Think Alike , with the crowd going crazy and the surfers reaching the tips of the stage momentarily. The pits were large and vicious , with massive circle's resulting in fainting , bleeding and sweating. The songs that followed were so in sync it was like you were listening to them digitally. It seemed that Chris Miller ( Guitar) had grown his hair a lot.It was almost like the dude with dreadlocks next to me. It was horrible , like jumping up against a carpet. proper chaffed. The rest of the songs were followed by sing-a-longs and screams when a favourite came on. They did a rather interesting cover of Fall Out Boy's " Sugar We're Going Down" which got the massively over selled crowd pumping. They ended this amazing show with " The Rumour" , this of course being a classic song to me. Probably because the first time i heard it live they incorperated the end of umberella by rhianna into it. Unfortunatley , this was not repeated at this show .To my dismay also , This Turbulence Is Beautiful and Noises were not played. These are good as well , as they are a taster of the younger and more adventurous you me at six.

I came out of that gig looking like crap in a stylish yma6 tee , but hey! they were immense live. And i so can't wait until the next album comes out to be honest , should be tastier than the maccies i had. The preview of the new b-side to the re-release of SIFTB , Sweet Feet , is so good i was actually singing my little heart out.

i wanna see the rest of their tour now!
